Avni's POV

....................

The rhythmic hum of the engine melded with the gentle strains of music floating through the air.

I drove along the winding roads, the night wrapping around me like a soft blanket.

The anticipation of my getaway to Simla sent waves of excitement coursing through me.

I needed this break-an escape before I stepped into a new chapter of my life.

In just two months, I would marry Sandeep, my childhood best friend and the love of my life.

As I navigated the darkened roads, my thoughts drifted to Sandeep.

He had always been my anchor, a steadfast presence in my life.

We shared secrets and dreams, and I couldn't imagine facing the future without him by my side.

My family adored him, too, which only added to the comfort I felt about our upcoming marriage.

Just then, my phone lit up, breaking through my reverie.

I glanced at the screen, and a smile crept across my face-it was him.

"Tum pka so saal jeene Wale ho!" I teased, my voice playful and bright as I answered the call, keeping my eyes fixed on the winding road ahead.

"Acha ji. I didn't know that," he replied, laughing lacing his words.

"Ji. I was just thinking about you when you called. Isn't that fate?" I said, my heart fluttering at the thought.

"Fate or coincidence? Toh kya lagta hai, mein kya kahunga?" he teased, a warmth in his tone that made me feel cherished.

"Oh, my love was daydreaming about me," I laughed, the tension of the day melting away.

"Of course! I would say that? But really, Avni, I called to check if you've reached your destination yet," he said, his voice shifting slightly, a hint of concern creeping in.

"Why do you care? You refused to join me! Now you're worried?" I feigned annoyance, unable to keep the smile off my face.

"Love, I know you're angry, but you have to understand that the work I'm doing is for us.

I want to enjoy our time together without distractions. Just give me a little time," he said, sincerity pouring from every word.

I sighed, the weight of his reasoning washing over me.

"Alright, fine! But you better finish it quickly. I won't tolerate excuses later," I said, a playful edge in my voice.

"Deal. Just promise me you'll drive safely. I know I suggested getting a driver, but..." he trailed off, his concern evident.

"Alright, bye! Love you, Jaan," I said, a grin spreading across my face as I hung up.

The moment I ended the call, a sudden flash of light blinded me, illuminating the dark forest around me.

My heart dropped.

Adrenaline surged as I instinctively pressed down on the accelerator, swerving to avoid the oncoming danger.

The car felt unsteady beneath me, and before I knew it, I lost control.

Then, everything went dark.

Abhimanyu's POV

.................................

"What the hell? Who's blind enough to miss a whole car on the road?" I cursed under my breath, slamming the brakes of my Thar.

The sudden stop sent a jolt through my body, and I felt a wave of panic and anger wash over me.

As I glanced in my rearview mirror, I saw the flash of headlights disappear into the trees.

My heart sank as I saw car was involved.

I rushed out of the vehicle, my heart racing as I sprinted toward the scene, dread clawing at my insides.

"Shit!" I Crushed, my voice echoing in the stillness.

I felt a cold sweat forming as I approached the car, which had come to rest against a sturdy tree.

The sound of The horn blared in the quiet night, a haunting reminder of the chaos that had just unfolded.

I yanked open the driver's door, my breath hitching in my throat.

I saw a woman, Her face was on the steering wheel.

Oi!!!, I shouted at her.

"Woman!, can you hear me?" I say , anger threading through my voice.

My hands reached for her, desperate to find any sign of life.

Nothing.

"Fuck!" I Crushed under my breath, now my heart is pounding furiously.

"You have to wake up, woman!. I am not interested in going to jail right now ."

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves above us, the world around me falling silent as I knelt beside her, cradling her face in my hands.

The night was heavy with silence, broken only by the frantic thud of my heart.

"You can't die on me, woman. If you die, I'm going to jail," I murmured, the words tasting bitter on my tongue.

Cradling her lifeless body, I felt the weight of her warmth slipping away.

"Shit, what can I do now?" Cursing the universe, I hoisted her into my arms and hurried to my Thar, each step feeling like a lifetime.

I gently placed her in the passenger seat, buckling the seatbelt with trembling hands.

"Just hold on," I whispered, sliding into the driver's seat, the engine roaring to life beneath me.

I pressed my foot down hard on the accelerator, racing against time itself.

"Please, don't die on me," I Murmur into the empty air.

As I screeched to a halt outside the hospital, adrenaline coursed through me.

I jumped out, lifting her into my arms once more, the world around me blurring into chaos.

"Doctor!! Doctor!!!" My voice echoed in the sterile halls, desperation painting my every word.

A nurse rushed towards me, her face pale with concern.

"What happened to her?" she asked, panic creeping into her voice.

"Nothing," I snapped, a sardonic edge cutting through my tone.

"She's just sleeping."

"What?" Her eyes widened, clearly not understanding the gravity of the situation.

"Kya? Kya? Ha dikh raha hai, she's a patient, and you're still asking! What happened to her?" I yelled, frustration bubbling over.

"I'm sorry, sir-"

"But if this is an accident case, you have to call the police first. We can't admit her," she said, her voice steady despite my outburst.

"What is wrong with you people?" My voice cracked, barely able to contain the fury rising within me.

"Someone is dying here, and you're worried about procedures and the police? Admit her now, or if she dies because of this nonsense, what then?"

"Sir, I understand your frustration," she said, trying to remain calm.

"But this is hospital policy. Please, try to understand-"

"Damn it! I've got mere minutes!" I glanced down at her, her skin turning colder by the second.

"What do I do now?"

"Si-"

"Look here, Miss," I interrupted, glaring at her, my intensity making her flinch.

"If my wife dies because of your damn policies, I will shut this hospital down. Do you understand?"

"She's your wife?" The nurse blinked, shocked replacing her earlier panic.

"Yes! Now, for the love of everything, get her inside!"

"Sir, please lay her down here," she said, pointing to a nearby stretcher.

With a sense of urgency, I laid her down, cradling her head gently.

"Alright, we will do everything we can to save your wife," she assured me, her voice softer now.

"In the meantime, please fill out this form."

As she rushed off with a team of doctors, I could only watch, my heart pounding, filling the form with shaky hands.

Each box I filled out felt like an eternity, the words blurring as I fought back my anger.

I glanced back at her, my world hanging in the balance.

"Just hold on, please don't die on me, Woman," I whispered, my voice breaking.

"I'm here. I won't let you go."
